As a special purpose district, Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is subject to public review of records in accordance with South Carolina’s Freedom of Information Act. All FOIA requests should be emailed to Riverbanks' public relations manager at mperron@riverbanks.org.
Costs are associated with any FOIA request, and payment of fees is required in full prior to the release of public records. Costs are determined based on:
- The time required for the search, retrieval and redaction of information. Fees may not exceed the prorated hourly salary of the lowest paid employee trained to perform the request but can vary based on department.
- Actual costs for photocopying records.
